Cape Ballet Africa ignites the stage at the KKNK with this celebration of new work by a trio of revered South African choreographers. SALT offers a programme in three parts, with ballet works by Kirsten Isenberg, the highly acclaimed choreographer Mthuthuzeli November and Michelle Reid. SALT resonates on many levels in our daily existence. It flavours, purifies, heals, and preserves. Salt has significance in ancient rituals, wards off evil, keeps us safe and inspires us to a higher spiritual realm. These three ballets are poignant, sleek, stylish, celebratory and percussive. Expect strong athletic pointe work, gravity-defying pas de deux, and beautifully articulated bodies in motion.
