2024 marked the 20th birthday of the Absa L'Atelier Gerard Sekoto Awards. To celebrate the historic partnership between Absa, the French Embassy in South Africa, Institut Français d'Afrique du Sud (IFAS) and the South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA) and their continued support of young talent, a reflective exhibition is planned.

This special milestone is celebrated by winning works, as well as more recent works of art from the talented alumni of the Absa L'Atelier Gerard Sekoto Award. The 2025 exhibition celebrates the impact of Gerard Sekoto on young South African artists, the legacy of this prestigious award and the partnerships that have made it possible.
