WITH Rocco de Villiers, Coenie de Villiers and Mauritz Lotz (guitar) SCRIPT, DIRECTOR AND MUSIC Rocco de Villiers and Coenie de Villiers PRODUCTION HOUSE CDV Market Ideation

A piano has 88 notes, but even two pianos on one stage are not enough for the fast fingers of these two South African piano legends. Audiences have asked, and Rocco de Villiers and Coenie de Villiers have listened. These two Viljees join their formidable forces for the very first time in this debut. They are joined on stage by South Africa’s guitar maestro Mauritz Lotz. The repertoire ranges from Afrikaans folk music to Bach, from the blues to ballads. There are old hits that boast fresh interpretations, new compositions written specifically for this production, and – wait for it! – brand new literary art from the pens of both artists. While their styles are diverse, they share one great love: the piano. In the process, these musicians create a unique, new sound. “And no,” laughs Coenie. “Relax – I don’t wear shorts on stage!”
