According to the dictionary, the Afrikaans term “vlerksleep” means to approach a girl like the birds (especially pigeons) flap their wings to get the females’ attention. In this comedy, we meet Richard and Julia, both in their late 50s. Recently divorced. Both are now in the process of starting to look for new partners by going on a number of blind dates. Follow these two’s escapades through a series of unexpected, quirky and volatile romantic attempts where absolutely nothing goes according to plan. Vlerksleep is a very funny, entertaining comedy, and looks at the hilarious, crazy world of those who suddenly find themselves on their own again in their later years, looking for new love. It turns out the cruise ship is not headed for a romantic sunset; its name is the Titanic . . .
